CEMA Special Markets' Christmas In the Air: The Best of Favorite Holiday Classics has a selection of easy listening, vocal pop, traditional pop and country-pop holiday tunes, all culled from the EMI-Capitol and Liberty vaults. It isn't very coherent -- the New Christy Minstrels give way to Lacy J. Dalton and the Pirates of the Mississippi, which then cede ground to Bing Crosby and the Roger Wagner Chorale and the Lettermen. Nevertheless, this hodgepodge is pretty entertaining, especially considering that it's a budget-priced disc. For some listeners, that's enough to qualify it as a bargain. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
