In 2010, Suzanne Vega began a four-disc project to re-imagine her own songbook in stripped down, unadorned arrangements that highlight the lyrics and melodies with Close Up, Vol. 1: Love Songs and Close Up, Vol. 2: People & Places, following it in 2011 with Close Up, Vol. 3: States of Being. Close-Up, Vol. 4: Songs of Family, brings this series of intimate re-recorded versions of her catalog to a close.
