Cyberteam in Akihabara - Vol. 1: Cyberteam Genesis

The twisted minds of director Yoshitaka Fujimoto (NUKU NUKU DASH) and producers Tetsuo Gensho (YOU'RE UNDER ARREST) and Hiroshi Kato (VAMPIRE HUNTER D) train their satiric gaze on the phenomenon of pop-culture fads in the anime series CYBERTEAM IN AKIHABARA. A parody of the POKEMON merchandising craze, the series follows the adventures of teenaged schoolgirl Hibari as she longs for the latest high-tech gizmo, a mechanical pet toy known as a patapi. Hibari gets her wish when a mysterious prince presents her with a magical patapi that can transform itself into a powerful diva warrior. When the teen encounters a maelstrom of dark forces who hope to steal the toy from her, Hibari forms a cyberteam of other patapi-owning teenage girls to battle the evil legions. This introductory volume of the slyly tongue-in-cheek anime features the series' first five episodes.
