The fifth studio long-player from the Boston-based heavy metal unit, Deathless finds David Davidson, Brett Bamberger, Phil Dubois-Coyne, and Dan Gargiulo offering up a blistering ten-song set that skillfully blends death metal, metalcore, and traditional American thrash into a streamlined sonic assault that evokes everyone from early Megadeth and Metallica to Mastodon and Pantera. Less progressive and fusion-minded than their 2013 eponymous fourth outing, yet retaining their penchant for sharp soloing and overall forward-thinking musicality, Deathless is another strong entry into an increasingly solid body of work. ~ James Christopher Monger
