As one of the higher profile DJs and producers on the scene, Diplo was in constant demand throughout the mid to late 2000s. DECENT WORK FOR DECENT PAY collects the artist's remix work for acts such as Daft Punk, Bloc Party, Kano, and M.I.A., showcasing his penchant for mixing hip-hop, rock, Miami bass, and experimental electronic textures. On top of Diplo's dance-rock makeovers, which pair guitar-driven tunes with stuttering club beats (his version of Bloc Party's "Where Is Home" is a prime example), DECENT WORK also traffics in Brazilian baile funk, another of the artist's key influences. Such moments, like the Diplo-penned instrumental "Way More Brazil," provide some of the album's highlights.
