Degrassi alums Emma (Miriam McDonald), Manny (Cassie Steele), and Liberty (Sarah Barrable-Tishauer) have gone on to Smithdale University, leaving a new class of ninth-grade students to dominate season eight of DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION. When we last left the influential Canadian melodrama, students from a neighboring school were being bussed to Degrassi, sending ripples of tension through the classrooms.
