Riveting, fact-based historical drama of passion and power chronicling the influential and scandalous exploits of Georgiana Spencer, the Duchess of Devonshire (Keira Knightley) in 18th-century England. Ralph Fiennes is excellent as her insensitive husband. Directed by Saul Dibb, who co-wrote the screenplay with Anders Thomas Jensen and Jeffrey Hatcher, who adapted Amanda Foreman's novel "Georgina, the Duchess of Devonshire." Princess Diana was a direct descendant of the duchess.
