Personnel includes: Deuter, Annette Cantor (violin).
Personnel: Deuter (koto, sitar, cello, shakuhachi, keyboards, drums).
EARTH BLUE is a collection of ambient songs designed to complement the architecture, lay-out, and interior design of Volkswagen's unique theme park called The Autostadt. The Autostadt's grand plaza celebrates movement in all its forms. It is a serene, meditative environment that builds upon the principles of feng shui and spatial energy.
However, one doesn't have to be at The Autostadt in Germany to enjoy EARTH BLUE. On this album, Deuter combines nature sounds?ocean waves and flocks of birds?with layers of keyboards, acoustic guitars, and flute. On the title track "Earth Blue," Deuter intertwines a flute melody with a violin countermelody, thus creating a musical conversation. Eventually, the two instruments begin to dance above the keyboard strings, harmonizing together as one voice. In general, this music is scenic, picturesque, and wholly atmospheric. It encourages the mind to wander to the top of a windy mountain, or to the bottom of a deep ocean. Most of all, it urges the listener to imagine different types of movement. This is Deuter's gift, and Volkswagen's objective.
