EVERYTHING IS WRONG: MIXED AND REMIXED is a 2-CD set featuring two continuous DJ mixes based on music from Moby's EVERYTHING IS WRONG LP. The remixing is done by Moby himself under the moniker "Evil Ninja."
Only Moby would try to release a completely remixed, double-CD version of his landmark EVERYTHING IS WRONG album. The first CD, a combination of "Hard Techno, Joyous Anthems, and Quiet Ambience" combines the best of Moby's fastest, hardest tracks with his smoothest, most beautiful ambient in quite a long time. The second CD, containing "New York Hard House, Groovy Acid and Melodic Trance" is the kind of smoky and sweaty dance-till-noon groove-fest that you only read about after the police have closed the club down. While both CDs are chock-full of dynamic and extremely rhythmic reinterpretations of Moby's finest, the "Hard Techno" is the more inventive of the two, and while Moby does his best to surprise, some pieces work better as remixes than others. However, a nice change of pace are the remixes of "Feeling so Real" by DJ Seduction and "Into the Blue" by Josh Wink. Both hint at how much fun Moby could have working with others.
