If you took just a quick glance at the cover art for the 2015 compilation Flatland Saturday Night, it'd be easy to think High Noon was another forgotten rockabilly outfit Bear Family dug up for a reissue. Not so. High Noon is a revival outfit who formed in the '90s and toured into the 21st century. This compilation rounds up 32 tracks they cut between 1990 and 2002, throwing in two demos from 1989 for good measure, and the impressive thing is, this music feels like it could've come out in the '50s. The trio is as convincing on the late-night, lonesome ballads as they are on the wild-legged boogies, and that casual facility makes this a blast. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
