After a reunion of sorts in 1998, a-ha have reminded audiences across the world of their continuing influence on popular music. This ninth studio album is something of a return to their synth pop roots, and sees them adopting a more familiar guise to their elder devotees. Influences cited by the group for Foot of the Mountain include Arcade Fire's Neon Bible and the conflicts of nature and modern civilization.
