Released just over a decade after his solo career began, Frost's Greatest Joints showcases exactly why the MC leads the West Coast Latin rap scene. This compilation goes all the way back to his debut album, Hispanic Causing Panic (1990), to start things off with "La Raza," his breakthrough song. From there Greatest Joints moves chronologically, culling "No Sunshine," "Thin Line," and "Mi Vida Loca" from East Side Story (1992) before skipping around to collect a few of the better songs from Frost's mid- and late-'90s albums. In short, Frost endured for over a decade for a reason, and this compilation showcases his skills better than anything else in his canon. It also proves insightful, illustrating how the carefree, party-orientated Kid Frost evolved into the wiser, more earnest Frost. ~ Jason Birchmeier
