This evocative work proved to be a haunting testament to the composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, who died so young that he barely witnessed his great successes. Recorded in Italy, at the awesome surroundings of the Santuario della Beata Virgine di Mairacoli, this interpretation of Pergolesi's "Stabat Mater" is expertly lead by conductor Ricardo Muti.
