Finally issued on CD a quarter-century after its initial release, GOOD CLEAN FUN is a lost classic ripe for rediscovery. A San Francisco singer-songwriter (sister of Huey Lewis and the News' Chris Hayes and Robert Cray drummer Kevin Hayes) who later wrote hits for Bonnie Raitt and others, Hayes adds soul, jazz, and torch song influences to girly New Wave pop, resulting in fizzy classics like "Girls Like Me" and "Shelly's Boyfriend," as well as more serious efforts like "Coverage" and the anguished closer, "The Last Word."
