George Clooney stars as a U.S. officer involved with an ex-flame (Cate Blanchett), a German whose husband is being sought by both the Americans and the Russians. Blanchett is wonderful in a role that she patterned after Marlene Dietrich and Ingrid Bergman. Directed by Steven Soderbergh. Thomas Newman's score was nominated for an Oscar.
