Greatest Karaoke CD...Ever, Vol. 2

Because there's nothing like singing along to your favorite songs, especially cheesy synth versions of those songs, there's karaoke, and for those a little too nervous to try this in their local bar, or who want to practice before they make their debuts, there are karaoke albums. While Greatest Karaoke CD...Ever, Vol. 2 may be a bit hyperbolic in its grandiose title, it does certainly offer a wide variety of songs from which to choose, from Enrique Iglesias' "Bailamos" to "Summer Love" from Grease to Bob Marley's "One Love" to ABBA's "Knowing Me Knowing You" to, bizarrely, "Auld Lang Syne," synth bagpipes and all. There are also three vocal tracks included -- not by the original performers, of course -- "Summer Love," "Tragedy," and "Lady in Red," each of which is followed by its complementary karaoke version. The whole thing is almost unbearably cheesy, with its bad Casio drumbeats and super-sweet chords, but, when the call to sing comes, it may just do the trick. So grab your favorite hairbrush and get ready. ~ Marisa Brown
