The concept of supergroup--an assemblage of players famous as solo performers or band members--is an old one, and it continues with Aura Noir. Members of Mayhem, Cadaver, Enslaved, and Gehenna--all of the Scandinavian death-metal scene--make up the Oslo group. HADES RISE is a joyous throwback to the days of '80s thrash metal, albeit with a predilection for slower tempos, which only serves to add to the menace quotient.
