With the release of 2001s ROOM FOR SQUARES, John Mayer became the poster boy for the post-adolescent generation. Incorporating breezy jazz and folk rhythms into his confessional acoustic sets, Mayer's music is just as easily digestible as his image, which covers the walls of teenage girls' bedrooms everywhere. 2003s HEAVIER THINGS finds Mayer a couple years older, but no less sensitive. Mayer wears his success and celebrity status well, displaying the same knack for introspection that has earned contemporaries like Jack Johnson and Dave Matthews such devoted followings. This dual disc features the CD version of HEAVIER THINGS on one side and a DVD-Audio version with bonus video material on the other.
