A young man attempting to make his way out of poverty is caught in the cross fire of a criminal act in this drama from Venezuela. When Daniel (Fernando Moreno) was a baby, he was abandoned by his mother in a slum neighborhood in Caracas. He was taken in by Graciela (Marcela Giron), who raised him alongside her son Julio (Eliu Armas). The boys have grown up to become gifted soccer players, with Julio the captain of a successful local team and Daniel their star striker. The pair play well together and seem poised for careers in the big leagues, but their future becomes uncertain after Graciela is killed when she's unwittingly caught in a shoot-out between members of a criminal gang. While both Julio and Daniel are shattered by their loss, Daniel must also struggle with the knowledge that he saw the murder and knows the shooter's identity, but to reveal it would implicate members of his team and make him a marked man. HERMANO (aka BROTHER) is the first feature film from director and co-screenwriter Marcel Rasquin.
