Similar to the popular series SLAM DUNK, HOOP DAYS (aka DEAR BOYS) is a basketball anime that stresses the importance of team work and training. Kazuhiko Aikawa is the new student at Mizuho High School. At his previous school, he was captain of the basketball team, and is shocked to discover that Mizuho's team has been disbanded! Amazed by Kazuhiko's ability to slam dunk despite his short height, other students at Mizuho begin to take an interest in the game again, and reform the team. Kazuhiko's challenge is to whip the team into shape in time to compete in coming season. HOOP DAYS features a soundtrack with some of Japan's top hip-hop artists. ZONE ONE is the first volume collecting the sports anime, and contains five episodes.
