Hopalong Cassidy: The Official Motion Picture Collection - Volume 1

In this first feature of the Cassidy series, Bill Cassidy gets his nickname Hop-along after he is wounded in the leg and starts hopping around with a cane. The film begins with Cassidy making a dramatic return to the Bar 20 by riding down a steep hill to save newcomer Johnny Nelson from a beating. Trouble is brewing between the Bar 20 and neighboring H-2 ranch over water rights and cattle rustling. The dispute reaches the boiling point when head strong Johnny falls for the H-2 owners daughter and crashes their party. Hoppy saves Johnny from sure death and soon reasons that the trouble between the ranchers is a set-up by a gang of rustlers so they can steal both ranchers cattle. After his beloved friend Uncle Ben is murdered, Hoppy vows revenge. When he discovers that the foreman of the H-2, the notorious Pecos Jack, is the mastermind of the set-up and Uncle Bens murderer, he snaps into action. To the rousing music of Glucks Dance of the Furies, the Bar 20 and H-2 men join forces under Hoppys lead to clean out the rustlers from their hideout in Thunder Mesa.
