House on 56th Street

A woman marries a wealthy young man, but when her former boyfriend dies she is convicted of murder. She serves twenty years, during which time her husband dies in combat. She gets out of prison, and eventually becomes a skilled gambler. She takes a job working in a gambling house, that happens to be in the home she once shared with her deceased hubby. One night, the couple's daughter, from whom the woman is estranged, loses a great deal of money at the establishment, which leads to more death.
