Ich Bin

Ich Bin-Im Duett Mit is almost a best-of collection of Heinz Rudolf Kunze's songs, but instead of compiling old recordings, Kunze re-records his songs as duets with numerous guest vocalists -- including Pur singer Hartmut Engler, Joachim Witt, Pe Werner, Achim Reichel, and Die Prinzen frontman Tobias Künzel. Despite the duet approach, however, the arrangements on the new recordings are close to the originals ("Hunderttausend Rosen" is actually not a re-recording at all; the version here is identical to the one on Kunze's 2011 album Die Gunst der Stunde). The album also includes two new songs: "Fair Play" with Heiner Lürig and "Ich Bin Ich." ~ Christian Genzel
