Universal's 2013 compilation Icon follows EMI's 10 Great Songs by one year (the difference a year makes? EMI merged with Universal) and, not entirely surprisingly, eight of its 11 tracks overlap with that 2012 comp. The songs here that aren't on its predecessor are "Songs About Me," "I Left Something Turned on at Home," and "Hot Mama," songs that when added to "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk," "Rough & Ready," "You're Gonna Miss This," "Then They Do," "Ladies Love Country Boys," and "I'm Tryin'" help make this a very successful sampler of Trace Adkins' '90s and 2000s peak. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
