Avant's entry in the Icon series covers his first six albums -- 2000's My Thoughts through 2010's The Letter. The disc contains only 11 tracks, but functions as an adequate anthology, as it features all of the sophisticated singer's Top Ten R&B singles: "Separated," "My First Love" (a cover of Rene & Angela's 1983 quiet storm classic, featuring Keke Wyatt), "Makin' Good Love," "Read Your Mind" (featuring Snoop Dogg), and "4 Minutes." There is more depth to Avant's discography, but this set will get it done for the casual fans. ~ Andy Kellman
