Director Frank Scheffer examines Igor Stravinsky's groundbreaking "Symphonies for Instruments" in this illuminating musical documentary. Composed in 1920 as a tribute to Debussy, the piece still feels original and fresh today; it's a bold work with extremely complicated tempo relations, and was the first to use a musical "montage" technique. THE FINAL CHORALE is creatively structured and edited to mimic the form of Stravinsky's composition, and it features archival footage, interviews, and music from the Netherlands Wind Ensemble with conductor Reinbert de Leeuw.
