With Yesterday's Rising's Brandon Bolmer replacing vocalist Craig Owens and Underminded's Tanner Wayne taking the place of drummer Derrick Frost in their new lineup, Chiodos stick to their emo-screamo-hardcore blueprint for Illuminaudio. Bolmer has a powerful voice, and he shares Owens' range, with the ability to alternate between broadway high notes and a metal wail. Meanwhile, Chiodos seem to have found their comfort zone. They shred ambitiously, without ever allowing their licks to get in the way of the big, emotional hooks. ~ Jason Lymangrover
