The Cribs return to their classic trio lineup after the departure of Johnny Marr on In the Belly of the Brazen Bull, which also finds the Jarman brothers returning to their classic, heavy guitar pop sound. The Jarmans recorded the album with Dave Fridmann at New York's Tarbox Studios and with Steve Albini at Chicago's Electrical Audio as well as London's Abbey Road, underscoring the brothers' fondness for indie ideals and classic rock melodies.
