Iron Curtain Innocence [Bonus Tracks]

Reissued in 2007 by Secretly Canadian as part of their series on Worcester, Massachusetts' loony legend Bobb Trimble, IRON CURTAIN INNOCENCE holds up as an incredibly accomplished debut record from one of America's maniac talents. Rougher-edged than its successor, HARVEST OF DREAMS, this 1981 debut possesses fuzzy guitars punctuating impossibly high vocal swoons. The songs are structured like '60s psych epics but sound like '80s four-track recordings, and therefore like none of his contemporaries or heroes. Trimble must have been a man out of time when he recorded this album and, perhaps as a result, it holds up very well.
