It's Mashed Potato Time/Do the Bird

This single-disc release from Collectors' Choice combines two Dee Dee Sharp albums: It's Mashed Potato Time (Cameo, 1962) and Do the Bird (Cameo, 1963). Between the two, there are three Top Ten R&B hits: "Slow Twistin'" (number three), "Mashed Potato Time" (number one), and "Do the Bird" (number eight). Beyond those songs, there's plenty more fun to be had, including Sharp's versions of "Splish Splash," "Rockin' Robin," and "He's So Fine," as well as "(Dee Dee) Be My Girl" (a "Duke of Earl" answer record). ~ Andy Kellman
