Kin Ping Meh [Polydor]

German rockers Kin Ping Meh were signed to Polydor Records in 1971, with the hopes that their bluesy psychedelia would win over both European and American audiences. Although they didn't quite take over the charts, their skilled riffing and singer Werner Stephan's laid-back, Hendrix-y voice were well-received by the music press, and in retrospect, they are respected as a factor in the Krautrock scene. This debut album rings with tough, low-slung hard-rock tunes that stand proudly next to anything else of their era.
