Brazilian jazz pianist, composer, and vocalist Eliane Elias maker her Concord Picante debut with Light My Fire. The set features sultry versions of the title track (backed by 12 players) by the Doors, Stevie Wonder's "My Cherie Amour," and Paul Desmond's "Take Five," as well as four Elias originals and some Brazilian standards. The legendary Gilberto Gil lends his voice and guitar to three tracks, vocalist Amanda Brecker (Elias's and Randy Brecker's daughter) guests on "Toda Menina Baiana," The entire set melds Elias's trademarked Brazilian grooves into classic pop and modern jazz tunes.
