As the title suggests, Live Kraut: Live Rock Explosions from the Heyday of Krautrock! features live performances from West German rock bands in the '70s. The groups involved are more obscure than the obvious genre choices like Can and Kraftwerk. Instead, this compilation takes songs from the likes of Guru Guru, Karthago, Embryo, Grobschnitt, Mythos, Ougenweide, Out of Focus, Gila, Virus, Eulenspygel, and Anyone's Daughter. Like prog collectors, fans of Kraut tend to fall on the obsessive side, though, so this is a good collection of music for fanatical Krautrock lovers to scoop up, and the sound quality shouldn't disappoint either. ~ Jason Lymangrover
