Lon Chaney: The Warner Archives Classics Collection

This box set pays homage to the legendary "Man of a Thousand Faces," actor Lon Chaney, Sr. (1883-1930), with six of Chaney's features. Contents include: the melodrama HE WHO GETS SLAPPED (1924), with Chaney as a magnificent scientist who deals with personal tragedy by taking up a career as a circus clown; the period war drama MOCKERY (1927), with Chaney as a Russian peasant who becomes swept up in the Bolshevik Revolution; THE MONSTER (1925), with Chaney as a maniac who pulls in candidates for his bizarre experiments by causing highway accidents; MR. WU (1927), with Chaney in a dual role as the sage Grandfather Wu and his grandson; and THE UNHOLY THREE (1925), with Chaney as an evil ventriloquist who partners up with a dwarf and a strongman for a series of criminal activities. The box set also features the remake of THE UNHOLY THREE, 1930's THE UNHOLY 3 - the only talkie that Chaney, Sr. ever made.
