This double disc is a great anthology of Merauder's three albums on Century Media: Master Killer, Five Deadly Venoms, and Bluetality. In addition to album tracks, the first EP is in place in its entirety. Merauder's recorded sound came from the same New York post-hardcore mash-up that gave listeners the Cro-Mags. The vocal and bass-heavy sonics are dated now, but there is considerable menace, brooding, and explosiveness in this set. In addition to album and EP tracks, there are a number of alternate takes and remixes on disc two. ~ Thom Jurek
