Mockery

Silent film about a Russian aristocrat (Barbara Bedford) who persuades a dim-witted peasant (Lon Chaney) to escort her from Siberia to her big-city family estate, where he falls for her and also falls in with revolutionaries. The film was thought to be lost, but it was rediscovered and preserved in the 1970s. Ricardo Cortez, Mack Swain. Directed by Benjamin Christensen.
