A divertingly witty costume comedy-drama set in the mid-17th century. The legendary French playwright-actor (played with engaging aplomb by Romain Duris) is sprung from debtors' prison to teach acting to a wealthy benefactor (Fabrice Luchini) who hopes to woo a royal Parisienne (Ludivine Sagnier).
