While she has a background in country music, pianist Beegie Adair is nonetheless a proficient, popular pianist on the mainstream/pop standards scene. While some pianists reinvent standards, Adair is more of a traditionalist--she puts her stamp on the song while maintaining the original melody. Many of her discs are concept albums, and MOMENTS is a homage to '50s pop songs, from the period when the big band era was over and rock & roll hadn't yet flourished. Unabashedly sentimental and pretty, MOMENTS proudly embraces the definitive melodies of that special time.
