More Moondog

Thjis is the second of Moondog's "jazz" albums that the blind avant-garde composer released on Prestige. In some respects, these Prestige LPs are to be preferred to the more elaborately produced debut on Columbia Masterworks. Here you get an on-the-scene aural portrait of the city streets (literally, in some cases), as well as the whole homegrown bohemian culture that Moondog embodies, with his gritty yet gentle percussive forays into world rhythms on one hand and fascination with madigrals and Renaissance music on the other.
