No Time for Sergeants

A good-natured, bumptious farm boy, whose father has been hiding his draft notices, is inducted into the Air Force, where his trust and naiveté don't sit well with a nasty private and a harried noncom. The novel on which the film is based was adapted for TV in 1955, then became a Broadway play, a movie and finally a TV sitcom. Andy Griffith starred in the teleplay, the theater version and the big-screen production.
