Non-Stop Flight

Knute Erickson, generally cast as an ape-like henchman, plays the leading role in Non-Stop Flight. Erickson is cast as Swedish sea captain Lars Larson, abandoned by his mutinous crew on a remote Pacific isle. Likewise stranded are Larson's two daughters Anna (Marcella Daly) and Marie (Virginia Fry), who find themselves at the mercy of lecherous white slavers. A courageous team of U.S. Naval pilots undertake the titular non-stop flight from San Francisco in hopes of rescuing the heroines. The film was inspired by a similar real-life flight, made between California and Hawaii -- though one assumes that the more melodramatic excesses of the storyline sprang from the screenwriters' imaginations.
