As THE OFFICE returns for season five, nearly everyoneÆs caught up in complicated romance: Pam (Jenna Fischer) and Jim (John Krasinski) have become a long-distance couple (while PamÆs at art school); Dwight (Rainn Wilson) is still courting his newly engaged ex, Angela (Angela Kinsey), while her unsuspecting fiance, Andy (Ed Helms), attempts to plan the perfect wedding; and Michael (Steve Carell) is helping Jan (Melora Hardin) prepare for a baby that isnÆt his, all the while making mix tapes for the new HR rep, Holly (Amy Ryan). Add to these soap-opera shenanigans the day-to-day drudgery of pushing paper and caring for customers, and the result is a hilariously familiar, cringe-inducing send-up of the absurdities of modern life.
