Melancholy meets quirk in this tale of an aging train engineer attempting to adjust to life off the tracks after reaching the mandatory-retirement age. Odd Horten (Baard Owe) is a solitary soul who has been the engineer on a route in Norway for nearly 40 years. Now 67, Odd is forced to retire. It doesn't really sink in that he'll never drive a locomotive again until he's standing on the platform watching the train leave without him. But Odd's journey is just beginning.
