Okinawa

This obscurity from the vaults of early-'70s Baltimore freaks compiles material from an intended double LP that never surfaced at the time. Packaged in a film canister (similar to Public Image Ltd's Metal Box), the four 10" records contain material from their self-released LP and 12 additional tracks intended to fill out the vetoed double. An elaborate booklet accompanies the set, containing photographs, lyrics, and past-hence liner notes. Expect homespun progressive rock, intrepid psychedelic voyages, and general late-'60s affectations rolled into one chaotic whole. Not as immediately striking as some of the reissue gems Little Wing has turned up, but a curious obscurity of the psychedelic underground no less. ~ Skip Jansen
