OPERATION SUSSEX

One of the most important intelligence operations of World War II was this top secret spy mission that was created and directed by General Eisenhower. American, British, and Free French intelligence services were to recruit and train volunteers for an Allied resistance network. Men and women operatives parachuted two at a time into occupied France without Geneva Convention protections and then provided crucial details about the German military leading up to the D-Day invasion and beyond.
