In this fine period drama, a Paris vaudeville house owner (Gérard Jugnot) enlists the aid of a political organizer and a veteran entertainer to keep his theater afloat, only finding true success after a talented young singer sets the stage ablaze. Distressed that a local contractor may put him out of business, Germain Pigoil places a call to two powerful friends. Things start to pick up with the arrival of a talented new singer who makes each new night more exciting than the last.
