A 16-song compilation of the group's work, released under the Edsel/Demon umbrella. Thirteen of the songs here are derived from the group's debut album, with the remainder representing some of their edgier singles and B-sides. The whole package fits together rather neatly, and the sound is good for the time, though there are more generous collections of the group's work to be found, of more recent vintage. Included with rock & roll standards such as the Strangeloves' "Cara-Lin" are a few Pip Whitcher/Don Fardon copyrights that work well in this context. Nothing here is quite as strong as "Take a Heart," though "Don't Wanna Be Free" is a great rocker in its own right, and the title track comes close and gives the proceedings more of a psychedelic/freakbeat tone that their most familiar song would. The notes by Brian Hogg also give a pretty fair account of the band's history. ~ Bruce Eder
