The Wedding Present is well-known as an excellent live band, as the band's David Gedge has been making clear with a series of live CDs on his Scopitones label. This live recording is taken from 2005 and features a set list that draws from many different points of their career, dating all the way back to their first single, "Go Out and Get 'Em Boy" from 1985. It also includes a fair number of songs from the album the then-newly re-formed band released that year, Take Fountain. While the recording is a little crisp and clean for a band as rough and rugged as the Wedding Present, the disc does catch the band at an interesting time and shows that they could still make all kinds of passionate noise in their new incarnation. ~ Tim Sendra
