Previous Engagement

This witty charmer of a romantic comedy soars on the exceptional performance of Juliet Stevenson. She plays Julia, a neglected Seattle librarian who uses a second honeymoon as a ploy to rendezvous with a former lover (Tcheky Karyo) in Malta. Things get complicated when her stuffy husband (Daniel Stern) begins an affair with a boozy ex-chorus girl (Valerie Mahaffey). Kate Miles costars as Karyo's much younger girlfriend.
