PRINCESS MONONOKE

This fantastic Japanese anime adventure follows a heroic 14th-century warrior prince (voice of Yoji Matsuda) who embarks on a mythic quest to determine why the balance of nature has been thrown off-kilter. His journey takes him to a distant forest, where trees are being leveled to stoke iron furnaces, samurai are trying to conquer a mining colony and the forest gods are poised for a standoff. The voice cast includes Yuriko Ishida and Yuko Tanaka. Written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki.
